750m Sea Swim

The swim takes place in the Sea off the coast of Bexhill-on-Sea, with participants entering from the beach and starting the race from within two buoys. Those in the adult wave will complete a single-lap course marked out by buoys, ending back at the beach. Full lifeguard support is provided on the day.

20km Road Cycle

The cycle is completed over 2 laps of a 10km course starting from the transition area at the foot of Galley Hill and following the coastal roads to the Cooden Beach Resort. Cyclist return along the same route and u-turn before reaching the transition area to complete a second lap. This is a flat course that is likely to produce some personal bests.

5km Promenade Run

The run will be a one-lap 5km route along the fast and flat tarmac promenade of Bexhill-on-Sea.

Transition

Transition will be based at the foot of Galley Hill on De La Warr Parade in Bexhill-on-Sea. It is at the top of the beach, just off the promenade so not far to travel between disciplines. The finish line will be next to the transition area.

Please note: If weather (or any other) conditions do not permit for competitors to enter the Sea on race day, the swim will be replaced by a 2Km run along the promenade.

If you are entered as a Relay Team, it is down to each Team to nominate one of their members to complete the second run, although no team member can complete more than one discipline.

The Sprint Distance Triathlon will have a Team Relay race where three competitors (all 15 years old or over on 31st December 2011) take one of the disciplines each, tagging each other in transition.

All relay team tags will take place by the team’s bike racking position, inside the transition area. The swimmer will finish their swim, make their way into transition and then run to tag their team cyclist. The cyclist’s bike must stay racked until the swimmer has tagged the cyclist. When the team cyclist finishes, he/she must re-rack their bike before tagging their team runner. All tagging will take place by passing on the RFID Timing Chip to the next team member.

ParaTri Inclusive
