300m Sea Swim (1 lap)

The swim takes place in the shallows off the coast of Bexhill-on-Sea, with participants entering from the beach and starting the race from within two buoys. Those in the Young Athlete wave will complete a 300m swim in a straight line parallel to the the Bexhill-on-Sea beach. Full lifeguard support will  be provided on the day and we will make sure the athletes are comfortable with their position in the water.

4km Road Cycle (2 laps)

The cycle course for young athletes is completed over two laps of a 2km course starting from the transition area at the foot of Galley Hill and following the coastal road to the Sailing Club. They will then return along the same route to the transition area at Galley Hill and turn to do a second lap. This is a flat course and all children will be within sight of marshals at all times. All roads will be closed to traffic.

2km Promenade Run (1 lap)

The run is a single lap 2km route along the fast and flat tarmac promenade of Bexhill-on-Sea. Again this is closed to traffic.

Transition

Transition will be based at the foot of Galley Hill on De La Warr Parade in Bexhill-on-Sea. It is at the top of the beach, just off the promenade so not far to travel between disciplines. The finish line will be next to the transition area on the promenade.

Please note: If weather (or any other) conditions do not permit for competitors to enter the Sea on race day, the swim will be replaced by a 1Km run along the promenade.
